Two-piece construction, consisting of a base and an attachable plate; the base is constructed of a brass base, with a fabric underside to avoid scratching the desk, with two slotted balls fixated to the top for the plate to be inserted; the plate is constructed of a solid brass square, and features an artistic rendition of an Iron Cross of the Iron Cross on the obverse, with two oak leaves and an acorn; inscribed “1./Pi. 24” - presumably for 1./ Pionier Battailon 24; measuring 84 mm (w) x 140 mm (l) x 100 mm (h); in overall extremely fine condition.
