What's a max bid?

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Costa Rica. A ½ Escudo Coin, 1848

(Currency, Coins). Antique. A circular coin constructed of gold. The obverse features the image of a radiant sun with a lion passant in the center, above a row of three volcanoes. The image is encompassed by a border bearing the inscription “•REPUB•DEL CENT•DE AMER• 1848”. The reverse bears the image of a lion passant within a circular inscribed border. Below is the denomination “½ E.”, encompassed by a border with the inscription “LIBRE CREZCA FECUNDO CR.J.R”. The edge of the coin is reeded. Measuring 14.10mm in diameter and weighing 1.5 grams. This coin has been graded VF20 by ICCS (International Coin Certification Service).

ICCS is a Canadian coin certification company located in Toronto. They have been operating since 1986.
