(Jewellery, Necklaces). Victorian. Ladies. A four-row cultured freshwater pearl necklace with four 14kt yellow gold bar spacers. Containing 176 off-round to potato shaped freshwater pearls, measuring approximately 8.4mm to 9.3mm, white body colour, lightly to heavily blemished, good luster. The clasp is handcrafted in 14Kkt yellow gold with two safety catches, and measures 33.93mm x 7.29mm x 10.44mm. The necklace measures approximately 419mm in length. The pendant is crafted in 18kt yellow gold and is inlaid with an oval shaped portrait painting of a woman containing two single cut diamonds. The diamonds weigh approximately 0.01 ct., by gauge. The reverse of the pendant is marked “K18 1847” indicating 18kt gold and the year 1847. The reverse also bears a vertical double-bar pin with a safety catch. The pendant measures 36.12mm (w) x 42.80mm (h). The necklace and pendant together weigh 212 grams. This regal necklace is in extremely fine condition.
