(Military Constancy Cross). Type I. Army Issue. Generals Issue. Of high quality manufacture, likely of French origin, in toned silver with four green enameled arms, interlaced by gilt laurels, obverse centre in Gold depicting the Lady of Guadalupe, reverse in white enamels on Gold, with distinctive spread eagle suspension in silver gilt with single integral ring for commander's neck cord, cord in gilt bullion wire denoting a General's rank issue, overall measuring 42.2 mm (w) x 77 mm (h - inclusive of eagle's wings), with enamel loss to reverse, otherwise extremely fine and rare.

Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
