(Nishan Hafiden). Instituted 1910. 1910-1913 Issue. Of French manufacture consisting of a silver six armed star, each arm composed of a cluster of five rays, a gilt star overlay, obverse centre in red enamel with Arabic script "His Majesty Hafidien", arms also inscribed inscribed in Arabic ‘There is no God but Allah and Mahomet is his Prophet’, hallmarked on integral ring with boars head denoting French small silver guarantee post 1838, also marked with Dutch import/duty mark "vreemd" for objects used between 1906 and 1953, measuring 48 mm (w) x 61 mm (h - inclusive of laurel and horizontally pierced ball suspension), on period ribbon, very fine.

Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
