Sash Badge in silver gilt with white enameled arms with golden rays, eight stars, swivel crown with red and green enamels, centre in gold with blue enamels, reverse with makers motif of Sourza 107 Rua Aurra, measuring 71 mm (w) x 98 mm (h - inclusive of crown and horizontally pierced integral ball suspension), missing single star at 2 o'clock arm, minor enamel loss, on fine period sash. Star in silver gilt, with a seven arms white enameled star displaying golden rays, arm knees include nine white enamel stars, ornate crown with green and red enamels affixed to star by two screw posts, centre in gold with blue enamels and hand etched cypher, reverse with dual pin assembly and displaying makers motif of Sourza 107 Rua Aurra, measuring 68 mm (w) x 79 mm (h - inclusive of crown and cross), wonted, minor enamel flake to blue centre, very fine overall.
This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
