Germany, Heer. A Rare Officers Dress Dagger with Damascus Blade & Presentation Case, by Carl Eickhorn
(Heer Offiziersdolch mit Etui). A rare and exceptionally well-preserved Heer Officer’s dress dagger, measuring 400 mm in total length when inserted into the scabbard. It is accompanied by a period original presentation case, constructed of a heavy wooden frame with a faux black leather exterior. The interior features a padded white satin lid liner with dual intact hinge covers. A gilt Eickhorn squirrel logo appears on the liner, above an inscription of “ORIGINAL EICKHORN SOLINGEN”. A slotted black velvet medal bed is customized to seamlessly fit the dagger and scabbard separately. It opening with two functional bronze snap buttons and two hinges of identical construction. The case measures 420 mm (w) x 140 mm (l) x 52 mm (h). The dagger displays only minimal signs of age, while some material fatigue is evident to the exterior liner of the case. This striking and complete set is in an overall extremely fine condition.
