Germany, Luftwaffe. A Rare Navigator’s Watch, with Case, by Lacher & Co.

(Luftwaffe Beobachtungsuhr). A rare Luftwaffe navigator’s watch in top condition, constructed of a matte grey painted non-magnetic metal casing, featuring a circular black face with numerals graded in intervals of five from from 0 to 60, in turn notched at second intervals of five, with large second and minute hands and a small hour hand, all of the aforementioned featuring fully-intact and functional luminous paint for clear nighttime use, the right side of the case with a functional wind-up dial, the face retaining an intact plexiglass composite crystal, with an integral loop emanating from both the top and bottom and retaining a fully-intact, original brown leather strap fastening with a functional magnetic metal buckle, the left side of the case stamped with a model number of “FL23883”, the reverse stamped with a serial number “H1417”, the case measuring 55 mm in overall diameter (not inclusive of dial), accompanied by its period original case of issue, constructed of two pieces of card stock with a lime-green exterior liner, the interior plain, unmarked, measuring 76 mm (w) x 155 mm (l) x 38 mm (h), minor scratching is visible to the crystal and moderate exterior fatigue is evident to the case, a fully functional example near extremely fine condition.
