1892-1918 issue. (Preußische Rote Adlerorden IV. Klasse mit Schwertern und Krone); a silver cross pattée with stippled arms and silver gilt crossed swords screwed into the core of the cross between the arms of the cross; the obverse with a center white enameled medallion depicting a Brandenburg crowned eagle cast in the centre of the cross; the reverse with the crowned cipher of King Friedrich Wilhelm III; suspended from a partially red enameled swivel crown and its period original ribbon - with a paper collector’s tag attached to the reverse; maker marked “W” for “Johann Wagner & Sohn, Berlin” on the bottom of the six o’clock arm; measuring 38.61 mm (w) x 57.36 mm (h); weighing 24.7 grams; with light contact marks but in overall near mint condition.

This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
