(Roter Adler-Orden Bruststern zur 2. Klasse). Instituted 12 June 1792. Type IV. (1858-1918 Issue). A silver rhomboid-shaped star corpus, with forty silver rays, on top of which lays the cross of the order, a Gold cross pattée with white-enamelled arms, obverse centre presents a white enamelled medallion depicting a hand painted Brandenburg crowned eagle, circumscribed by a white-enamelled ring, inscribed SINCERE ET CONSTANTER (SINCERE AND PERSISTENT) in golden lettering, the reverse centre presents a principle pin assembly, marked R below catch denoting manufacture by Rosenthal, measuring 79.51 mm (w) x 80.28 mm (h), weighing 71.7 grams, and in extremely fine condition.

This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
