Of typical high quality in Gold, with four finely red enameled arms with Gold framing, ornate hand etched design in each quadrant, obverse centre applique presents the portrait of St.Anne hand painted on enamel, reverse centre bearing the hand painted initials "A.I.P.F." (for "Anna Imperatoris Petri Filia": "Anna, Emperor Peter's daughter" in Latin), marked with Russian Imperial eagle on reverse 12 o'clock arm, maker marked AK for Albert Keibel, of the master jeweler family, who was awarded the imperial warrant for the production of Russian orders from 1882–1905, integral ring 56 denoting 14k Gold content, measuring 42 mm (w) x 49 mm (h - inclusive of integral ring), 14.9 grams, on elongated Gold loop, with short section of ribbon, with enamel loss to reverse 6 o'clock arm, fair.
This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
