What's a max bid?

Switzerland. An American Gold Ten Dollar Coin Watch by Chopard, c.1968

(Timepiece, Wristwatches). Vintage. Men’s. This Chopard watch features an American gold ten dollar coin case with a push button latch on the side. The ten dollar Liberty head coin is dated 1907 and constructed of 22kt yellow gold. The sides of the watch case are reeded. The interior features an ivory dial with black hour markers and hands. The face of the watch is marked “L.-U. Chopard GENEVE”. The watch is attached with a hinge and can be pulled forward to view the case back. The 18kt yellow gold case back is marked with a bust, “18K 0.750”, “122”, “8626”, and “1014”. The reverse of the watch bears the reverse of the gold ten dollar coin. The watch strap is a fine pilot style link with a jewelry style clasp. The clasp is marked “LUC”, “0.750” and “H2092”. The watch case measures 30.13mm (in diameter excluding push button) and weighs a total of 57 grams. Manual movement, functional, and in extremely fine condition.

 

Footnote: Chopard produced various models of dollar coin watches, including pocket watches, throughout the mid-1900s. This watch is a model H2092 and was produced in 1968. Dollar coin watches became popular at the beginning of the 1970s and were appreciated by the American presidents. Various other luxury watch companies also made dollar coin watches.
