Instituted in 1861. (1941- Issue). A Grand Cross set in silver, the sash badge features an eight point star with a singular leaf in each quadrant, the central medallion presents a large white elephant on a gilt background, surrounded by a ring of facets and an exterior ring of red and green and enamel petals, the reverse medallion features the red enamelled cypher with mirroring exterior rings, the badge is surmounted by a large Thai crown suspension, measures 59.2mm (w) x 104.5mm (h – inclusive of crown suspension), weighs 70.6 grams, enamels intact, in extremely fine condition. The Breast Star of the Order, a sixteen point silver star, the obverse medallion featuring a large white elephant on a gilt background, surrounded by a ring of facets and an exterior ring of red and green and enamel petals, a small Thai crown sits on the 12 o’clock ray, the reverse features a single vertical pin assembly, measures 78.4mm (w) x 78mm (h), weighs 49.6 grams, enamels intact, a lovely star in extremely fine condition.
