What's a max bid?

In Gold with blue enamels, weighing 22.3 grams inclusive of its ribbon and hanger, maker marked "BAILEY, BANKS & BIDDLE CO. PHILA." and number engraved "3630" on the reverse of the eagle suspension, measuring 30.3 mm (w) x 44.7 mm (h), intact enamels, original ribbon with pinback hanger, extremely fine.

Footnote: The Sons of the Revolution was founded in 1876 by members of the Society of the Cincinnati, wishing to broaden participation in preserving the American Heritage on the eve of the United States centennial. Its mission is to promote knowledge and appreciation ofthe achievement of American independence and to foster fellowship among its members. As a 501(c)3 non-profit educational organization devoted to the principles and ideals of its founders, the modern Society maintains its headquarters, in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia with twenty-eight societies in the United States and Europe.

This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society. His knowledge and passion for history and awards is evident in this meticulously compiled collection that is now available in its entirety for the first time exclusively on eMedals.com.
