(Jewellery, Brooches). Art Nouveau. Ladies. Finely crafted in 14kt yellow gold, the brooch is in the shape of a winged dragon with a sword. One wing of the dragon features one, round shaped, faceted peridot, measuring approximately 2.1mm., weighing approximately 0.04ct., by gauge of medium tone of strong, slightly yellow-green colour, fair cut. The eye of the dragon consists of one round shaped, cabochon cut ruby, measuring approximately 1.0mm. The guard and grip of the sword contain eight round shaped, faceted rudies, measuring approximately 1.9-1.7mm., weighing approximately total 0.30ct., by gauge of medium tone of strong, slightly purplish-red colour, moderately included, medium cut. The pommel of the sword is a single old European cut diamond, measuring approximately 2.7mm., weighing approximately 0.8ct., by gauge of VS-2 clarity, F-G colour. The reverse bears a horizontal, functioning pin with a round C-catch. The reverse iis marked “14K” and bears an “R” with a sword, indicating Riker Brothers. The brooch measures 40.79mm (w) x 32.53mm (h) and weighs 11.5 grams. In extremely fine condition.
This item is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from Gem Grade Appraisal Service. Gem Grade is a renowned Toronto based appraisal service, with GIA graduate gemologist, in business for over 20 years. The appraisal states a $3,000 CAD suggested insurance coverage.
