(Orden del Libertador). Instituted in 1880. In silver gilt with blue enamels, French-made, hallmarked on the laterally-pierced ball suspension with a boar's head (denoting French manufacture of 900 silver, post 1838), measuring 39.8 mm (w) x 50.8 mm (h) inclusive of its laterally-pierced ball suspension, scattered gilt wear, large rosette on its original ribbon, near extremely fine.
Footnote: The Order of the Liberator was instituted on September 14, 1880 and awarded for meritorious services to the country and the community, in six grades: Collar, Grand Cordon, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight. It was discontinued in 2010, being replaced by the Order of the Liberators and Liberators of Venezuela.
