A lovely sash badge of the order in 18K Gold, consisting of a white enamelled Maltese Cross with ball finials, Gold crowns in each quadrant with enamelled jewels, obverse centre presenting a white enamelled star on a blue background, Motto "Nescit occasum" (It knows no decline) in Gold lettering, reverse presents matching centre, with an ornate Royal crown suspension with enamel jewels, measuring 54 mm (w) x 77 mm (h-inclusive of crown, horizontally pierced ball suspension adorned by cross), weighs 49.5 grams (including ribbon), sewn to section of period black silk sash, with minor enamel loss to reverse centre, minor cracks in arms, otherwise extremely fine.
Accompanied by the star of the Order, in silver, a four armed faceted star with large ball finials, clusters of smooth rays in each quadrant, and a superimposed five point star in the center, the reverse offers a single vertical pin, with four rivets, measures 76 mm (w) x 76 mm (h), weighs 55.3 grams, light wear, hinge and catch functional, in near extremely fine condition.
