The Awards & Documents Group to Major Koepke - An Awards & Documents Group to Major Karl Adolf Paul Koepke, a Deputy Chief Executive of the Train Depot of the XIV. Army (stellvertretender Vorstand des Traindepots XIV. Armeekorps); group consist of a medal bar, award documents, his Reise-pass (with uniform photo), and other documents: medal bar, mounted as originally worn German style: Iron Cross 2nd Class (magnetic), with award document (dated 19 December 1916); Red Eagle Order 4th Class, silver and enamels, enamels without chipping, marked WILM between the arms, with award document (dated 11 September 1903); Baden, War Merit Cross, in gilded zinc, with award document (dated 9 September 1916); Officer’s 25 Years Service Cross, gilded tombac, with award document (dated 18 June 1906); German South West Africa Medal (in Steel), with award document (dated 14.9.1907); China Campaign Medal (in Steel), with award document (dated 24.10.1901); 1797-1897 Jubilee Medal, bronze, with award document (dated 7 July 1897); ribbons on the medal bar slightly soiled, awards in slightly worn condition; award documents in good to very fine condition, some slightly creased, but without holes and few slightly creased; with another 14 official documents, mostly his promotions to higher rank, service records (covering period up until September 1916, ), these in generally good to fine condition; and his Reise-pass (with uniform photo), issued by Saxe-Meiningen in 1918, in fine condition. Footnote: Major Karl Adolf Paul Koepke was born in Breslau, Silesia, in 1861, and his military career started in 1881; judging by the award documents, his military career lasted at least until late 1916. Well worth a further research.
