(1. Ordu Trakya Manevrasi Hatira Madalyasi). Instituted in 1937. In silvered fine zinc, measuring 35.5 mm (w) x 39.7 mm (h) inclusive of its integral ring, bruised, edge nicks, exhibiting spotting and light contact overall, original triangular ribbon with dual prong pinback, very fine.
Accompanied by three typewritten letters in various languages (each loosely translated to English), documenting the award of the medal to Hungarian Military Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Oscar Baitz of Beodra:
(i) Letter in Turkish on Official Republic of Turkey 1st Army Inspectorate Letterhead, stamped and dated June 24, 1938 at Ankara, Turkey, stating that "The state military officer of the Hungarian Government, who was invited to the army maneuver in Thrace in August 1937 (Oscar Baitz of Beodra) was awarded a maneuvering medal on behalf of the Republic of Turkey as a commemoration", signed in black ink by F. Altay, 1st Army Inspector General, Republic of Turkey.
(ii) Letter in French, dated June 24, 1938 at Ankara, Turkey, stating "A maneuver medal was granted as a keepsake and in the name of the President of the Turkish Republic, to Lieutenant Colonel of the General Staff, Oscar Baitz of Beodra, military attache of Hungary who attended, by invitation, the maneuvers which took place in Thrace during the month of August 1937", from Fahreddin Altay, 1st Army Inspector General.
(iii) Letter in Hungarian on Official Embossed Hungarian Minister of National Defense Letterhead, stamped and dated February 2, 1939 at Bucharest, stating "By the supreme decision of Mr. Kormanyzo - dated January 3, 1939, in Budapest - is granted permission for Lieutenant Colonel (Oscar Baitz) to accept and wear the Thracia Memorial (medal).", signed in black ink by the Hungarian Minister of National Defence.
