What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Two First War Belgian Table Medals - Belgium Breaks its Neutrality/Army Occupation of the Rhine Medal (bronze, engraver marked "PAUL DUBOIS" on the obverse, maker marked "AM" (Amis de la Medaille d'Art) on the reverse, obverse illustrating a young woman standing, with chained hands, a kneeling woman to her left holdin a lyre aloft, two floating angels above, one with a trumpet and the other with a coat of arms, the castle of Versailles in the background, inscribed "LA BELGIQUE ROMPT SA NEUTRALITE" and " TRAITE DE VERSAILLES / 22 JUIN 1919", reverse illustrating a standing youth, a sword in his right hand, a shield in his left hand, a palm branch at his feet, "DB" shield monogram to the right, inscribed "L'ARMEE BELGE PARTICIPE A LA GARDE DU RHIN", 70.2 mm); and Belgian Army Met the Germans at Liege 1914/War for Civilization Medal (bronze, engraver marked "Josve Dupon" on both sides, maker marked "AM" (Amis de la Medaille d'Art) on the reverse, maker marked "J. FONSON" on the edge, obverse illustrating a lion standing upon a battle placement with cannon on the left, the city of Liege in the background and the city's coat-of-arms above, inscribed "LIEGE ARRETE L'ARMEE ALLEMANDE" above and "4-16 AOÛT 1914" below, reverse illustrating a seated nude woman at the right, her hands bound behind her back, the German eagle standing on a shelled wall to her right with the Imperial German crown above flanked by the dates "1914" and "1918" and inscribed "POUR LA CIVILISATION" at the bottom, 70.5 mm). Reverse of the latter medal is polished, light contact, better than very fine.
