Two-piece construction, Corps of Royal Engineers insignia surmounted by the Victorian Crown in bronze gilt affixed to the base via two lugs and a pin, the base plate in silvered bronze with a chromed finish on the obverse, a belt loop on the left side, with a hook placed on the right side on the reverse for attachment to the missing receiving belt loop, unmarked, measuring 61.7 mm (w) x 80 mm (h), contact marks evident on the obverse of the base, the insignia with very light contact, better than very fine.
