United Kingdom. A Royal Naval Commander Commission Document to Charles Inglis of the HMS Delight, 1829
A large framed parchment document, appointing Charles Ingles to Commander of the Sloop Delight, dated April 23, 1829, a four shilling stamp duty on blue paper with a tin strip impressed IV on the left side, a seal impressed on a separate paper on the top left corner, contained within a card border, the reverse is reinforced with a replacement nylon cord across the upper middle for hanging, a section of glued paper to the back inscribed Commander Charles Inglis Rr Seniority 29 April 1829 b-1795 d-9 June 1899, My Uncle C.D Inglis Captain R.R retired”, contained in a large wooden frame with glass cover over the obverse, measures 448mm (w) x 395mm (h) x 21mm (d), parchment displays foxing throughout, scuffs to frame, remains in very fine condition.
