United States. A Columbian World Exposition Administration Building Table Medal, 1893
Comprised of solid silver, the obverse bears a high relief bust of Columbus with the inscription COLUMBUS from 1 to 3 o’clock near the outer edge, the rim of the medal is surrounded by a copper gilt ring with bears a blue enamelled edge on the obverse side denoting a repeated floral pattern, the reverse shows the administration building of the World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893 with the surrounding inscription “WORLDS COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION” and in the exergue “CHICAGO 1893 ADMINISTRATION BUILDING”, measures 71mm in diameters, weighs 262.4 grams, glue residue on reverse, highest relief of reverse has been heavily scratched, notable edge knocks to reverse rim and bust of Columbus on obverse, remains in very fine condition.
