Three-piece construction, in 14K Gold with red, white and blue enamels, weighing 12.3 grams, obverse with a large engraved eagle bearing a bar inscribed "1812", reverse with eagles engraved on all four arms, number engraved "41" on the reverse of the integral suspension, measuring 33.5 mm (w) x 39 mm (h), chipping evident in the blue enamels on the stock of the anchor, original ribbon, near extremely fine.
Footnote: The Military Society of the War of 1812 was formed in 1826, with membership restricted to veterans of the war. In 1894, membership was opened to hereditary descendants of veterans.
