Composed of bronze gilt, with white, red and green enamelling and a purple polished phenolic resin, rim numbered 153382 on lower left side, measures 34.8mm (w) x 47.4mm (h), weighs 37.9 grams (including ribbon), worn on original ribbon with slot style brooch, light chipping to resin heart around the exterior, light contact to reverse, overall very fine condition.

Footnote: The 1942 Rex Products Purple Hearts serial numbers range from 100,000 to 400,000. The heart is of a polished phenolic resin.
