New Jersey World War Medal 1917-1918 (bronze gilt, 36.3 mm, missing its ribbon, traces of gilt remains); New York Medal of Honor for World War Service 1917-1919 (bronze gilt, manufactured by Dieges & Clust, number impressed "79886" on the reverse, 33.5 mm, original ribbon with brooch pinback, pinned to its presentation card, in its cardboard box of issue); and American Legion Department of New York 21st Annual Convention in Albany Attendee's Medal 1939 (bronze gilt with blue enamels, maker marked "MEDAL ARTS CO. ROCH, N.Y." on the reverse, original ribbon, suspended from a hanger with name plate insert frame, the hanger incorporating a pinback). Ranging from fine to extremely fine.
This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
