(Ordo Equestris Sancti Sepulcri Hierosolymitani). Instituted 1099. Type II (1868-present issue). Of French manufacture, an attractive eight-pointed silver star composing of cluster of multiple rays of increasing length on each arm, the obverse centrepiece in silver gilt consisting of an enameled red gilt-bordered Jerusalem Cross surrounded by an enameled green tied palm wreath, reverse with pin assembly flanked by two stays, marked twice by French silver hallmark denoting fineness of .800, together with period maker’s mark of A. Chobillon, measuring 88.23 mm (w) x 88.65 mm (h), presenting minor red enamel, with slightly toned silver, near very fine.

Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps.
