(Medaille für Kunst und Wissenschaft). Instituted on 14 March 1824. Type IV. (1892-1918 Issue). A round medal constructed of gilded copper, the obverse centre presents the right-facing bust of Wilhelm II with the inscription WILHELM II KOENIG VON WUERTTEMBERG, the reverse centre presents an oil lamp atop a globe surrounded by various emblems of art and science, encircled by laurel and oak leaf wreaths with the inscription DEM VERDIENSTE, measuring 24.87 mm in diameter, on loop for suspension from period original ribbon, and in overall very fine condition.
