WWI 259th Infantry Battalion Siberian Expeditionary Force "Hate" Belt - This belt is fabricated from a dark green webbed canvas, fitting a 30-32 inch waist, with seventeen assorted buttons and badges attached, held in place by various lugs, pins, rings, prongs and screwbacks. Includes a 259th Infantry Battalion Cap Badge (browning copper, 29.5 mm x 43 mm), a 259th Infantry Battalion Collar Tab (bronze, 25.3 mm x 26 mm), a Canada General Service Cap Badge (browning copper, 36.8 mm x 39.2 mm), a 1st Depot Battalion Eastern Ontario Regiment Shoulder Title (bronze, 16.5 mm x 39.8 mm), a Royal North West Mounted Police Shoulder Title (bronze, 12.3 mm x 58.2 mm), a North West Mounted Police Uniform Button, (Victorian crown, brass, 24.7 mm), two Prussian Army Uniform Buttons (crown insignia, bronze gilt, 20.5 mm each), a Prussian Uniform Button (eagle insignia, bronze, maker marked "A. & S.", 29.7 mm), an Imperial Russia Russo-Japanese Scroll Plate (brass, 25 mm x 120 mm), an Imperial Russia Cockade-Style Cap Badge (silvered iron with orange paint, magnetic, 35.8 mm x 45.3 mm), an Imperial Russia Nicholas II Cypher Cap Badge (brass, 44.8 mm x 50 mm), an Imperial Russia Infantry Marksmanship Badge (brass, 34.3 mm x 45.3 mm), an Imperial Russia Nicholas II Cross for the People's Volunteer Corps (brass, 42.8 mm), two Imperial Russia Navy Buttons (silvered bronze, two different versions, 17.3 mm each) and an Imperial Russia Barrister's Uniform Button (bronze gilt, 16.5 mm). The belt has a brass tab at the left end held in place via two eyelets, while the right end has a two-piece brass Imperial Russia Artillery Belt Buckle, the die-stamped coat-of-arms held in place on the buckle's face via four prongs, with the belt fed through the loop on the reverse. There is also an sliding brass length adjustment buckle on the left side, while the reverse is marked with a religious-style cross in black ink, its junction accented by a circle, located beside the aforementioned buckle. The belt measures 50 mm wide x 1,200 mm, with light oxidation soiling around some of the attached badges. A terrific, unique WWI collectible, extremely fine.
