What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

WWI C.A.S.C Officer's Visor CEF - This fine quality cap has three rows of white piping, with the body of the cap fabricated from a black wool, in the traditional flat top design. There are two black metal eyelets on each side of the cap on the underside of the overhang for ventilation. The front is adorned with a CASC Cap Badge (two-piece construction, silver beaver, wreath and crown insignia on a bronze gilt starburst base, 42.5 mm x 43.5 mm), held in place via intact lugs and pin. The black patent leather visor has a black patent leather strap resting along the top edge, held in position via brass CASC insignia buttons on both sides, along with a raised 20 mm wide border on the brim covered in silver bullion wire, trimmed in silver bullion wire cord on either side. The underside of the visor has a green lacquered finish, the visor itself very stiff. The 50 mm wide leather sweatband is embossed stamped in gold ink with the "MUIR CAP CO. LIMITED TORONTO, CONTRACTORS TO THE DOMINION GOVERNMENT" maker's insignia on the right side, with the two ends tied together with an adjustable blue ribbon, forming a bow at the seam. The dome is finished in a gray synthetic fabric, stamped in green and gold inks on the dome with the "MUIR CAP CO. LIMITED TORONTO, CONTRACTORS TO THE DOMINION GOVERNMENT" maker's insignia. The visor exhibits crazing overall and has a scratch in the leather, the wire on the raised border of he brim has fragmented in places exposing the orange fabric support underneath, moth invasion evident on the exterior near the back, soiling on the sweatband, extensive wear and soiling on the gray fabric in the dome, especially at the front behind the sweatband exposing the burlap support underneath. Overall, it continues to exhibit smooth quality in the wool, plus quality workmanship, intact stitching on the exterior, maintaining its original period look, in near very fine condition.
