What's a max bid?

R.N.); and French Navy School Armorique Magellan Medal (silver, hallmarked and marked "ARGENT" (silver) on the edge, engraved "J PIERCE" on the reverse, 33.6 mm). Naming is officially impressed. Un-mounted, dark patina on the BWM, extremely fine. Private J. Pierce, Royal Marines Light Infantry: British War Medal (PLY.14824 PTE. J. PIERCE. R.M.L.I.); and Victory Medal (PLY.14824 PTE. J. PIERCE. R.M.L.I.). Naming is officially impressed. Un-mounted, light contact, near extremely fine.Footnote: Able Seaman J. Pierce, Royal Navy was born in Sligo, Ireland in 1890 and served in the Merchant Navy before joining the Royal Navy as an Ordinary Seaman in 1909. He was named an Able Seaman in 1913 and then joined the Royal Fleet Reserve in May 1914. He was recalled in August 1914 and posted to HMS Caesar, stationed at Royal Naval Base Bermuda from August 1, 1917 to December 1918, during which time he operated on the Base Destroyers HMS Caesar, Highflyer and Sloop Mutine. Pierce returned to the United Kingdom in December 1918 and was demobilized on June 21, 1919. Private J. Pierce, Royal Marines Light Infantry was born in Sligo, Ireland in 1891 and served in the Merchant Navy before joining the Royal Marines in 1909. During WWI, he served aboard HMS Lion until June 1915, participating at the Battles of Heligoland and Dogger Bank, before being transferred to HMS Pelorus in May 1916, where he remained until being demobilized in February 1919, then continued his service in the Royal Fleet Reserve.
