Order of Labour with Silver Wreath, III Class (in silver, measuring 17.8 mm (w) x 17.8 mm (h)); Order of the People's Army with Silver Star, III Class (two-piece construction, insignia in silver gilt, mounted to a silver star base, measuring 20.8 mm (w) x 20.2 mm (h)); Order of Merit to the Nation, III Class (in silver with a gilt insignia, measuring 17.3 mm in diameter); and Medal for Bravery (in silver gilt, measuring 18 mm in diameter). Each award is suspended from a ribboned rectangular hanger with pinback. Extremely fine.
Footnote: The Order of Labour (Orden rada) was instituted on May 1, 1945 and was awarded for outstanding contributions to the economy, production and building communism, in three grades. The Order of the People's Army (Orden narodne armije) was instituted on January 1, 1952 and was awarded for services to the Armed Forces, and for successful peacetime command, in three grades. The Order of Merit to the Nation (Orden Zasluge za Narod) was instituted on June 12, 1945 and was awarded to those who distinguished themselves in the struggle for liberation and for merit in securing and organizing the Yugoslav government and army, and (from 1955) for achievement in the economic, cultural and social spheres, in three grades. The Medal for Bravery (Medalja za Hrabrost) was instituted on August 15, 1943 and was awarded to both partisans and civilians in peace and wartime for acts of bravery. All four awards were discontinued in 1991.
